Sports comment: Gumbel's remarks don't helpPublished 02/18/06
There are already enough racial problems in our society; nobody needs to create any more of them. But television personality Bryant Gumbel apparently disagrees with that idea. The closing comments of his "Real Sports" show on the HBO cable network were wholly unnecessary. Certainly, he is free to speak his mind on sports subjects. But to make the remarks he did marked him as a racist.
