Ben Pfinsgraff has come a long way since his days as a star pitcher for Severn School.
Dominating the relatively weak MIAA B Conference didn't draw the interest of many college coaches; so Pfinsgraff went the junior college route in order to raise his stock.
After one season at Allegheny College, Pfinsgraff sent a letter to Maryland head coach Terry Rupp expressing interest in joining the program.
Rupp scouted Pfinsgraff in a Cal Ripken Summer League game and was impressed enough to offer a partial scholarship. Three years later, Pfinsgraff is the Terrapins' staff ace and a professional prospect.
