It's Festivale in Rio, Mardi Gras in New Orleans and Octoberfest in Munich. They're festive first days of major events; holidays of sorts that people wait for each year in those cities. In Annapolis, it's the Summer League. That got under way last night at the Truxtun Park basketball courts. Unlike those other events, the start of Summer League play involves no beer drinking, no nudity and no hedonism. Just basketball.
