Maryland's vaunted defense dominated during the regular-season matchup with UMBC. Freshman goalkeeper Brian Phipps led the way as the Terrapins held the Retrievers to just three goals through three quarters en route to an 11-7 victory. Find Us On Facebook
A lot has changed for both teams since then. Phipps, a Severn School product, is no longer Maryland's starting goalie - having given way to senior Harry Alford. The Terrapins also have lost their top two short stick defensive midfielders - Jimmy Borell and Jeff Reynolds - to injury.
