A young Crystal Palace USA soccer team sent a message to the rest of the league that it's growing up fast. English import Charlie Sheringham scored in the ninth minute - Palace's first goal at home this season - and a revamped defense took care of the rest as the Eagles topped first-place Charlotte, 1-0, in front of 462 fans at Navy-Marine Corp Memorial Stadium last night.
