COLLEGE PARK - Maryland quarterback Chris Turner hasn't been in California since early August. The last time he was on the West Coast, he was preparing to come east to begin preseason practice with the Terrapins.
He'd played well in the spring scrimmage a few months before, but didn't seem likely to play in the fall. Jordan Steffy and Josh Portis were ahead of him on the depth chart.
