COLLEGE PARK - A month ago, Maryland's 6-6 record had many wondering if the team could finish .500. Two weeks ago, the Terrapins' 0-2 start in league play seemed to portend a third trip in four years to the National Invitational Tournament.
Now, after the Terps have won six of seven overall and two straight in the conference, expectations have changed. Beating the top-ranked team in the country in its own arena, as the Terps did last Saturday at North Carolina, will do that.
