Joe Ehrmann was nearing the end of a successful career as a professional football player when he went through a life-altering experience.
Ehrmann was a starting defensive end for the Baltimore Colts when he watched his younger brother die of a rare cancer in 1982. Billy Ehrmann, 18, came to Baltimore after high school graduation to work at summer training camp. He never left, getting diagnosed with Leukemia and slowly slipping away at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
