Ravens sign cornerback : Walker to compete for nickel back job

OWINGS MILLS - The Baltimore Ravens finalized a deal yesterday with free agent cornerback Frank Walker as he signed a two-year, $3.5 million contract.

The former Green Bay Packers and New York Giants defensive back is expected to compete for the nickel back job behind starters Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle. He received a $1.25 million signing bonus.

Walker, 26, has five interceptions in nine career starts. The 5-foot-11, 196-pound former sixth-round pick recorded 17 tackles and one pass deflection in 12 games last season in Green Bay, but was beaten out for the nickel job after signing a one-year, $1.24 million...
