O's Walker finally gets dream ride : Reliever's '81 Trans Am not for everyonePublished 03/15/08
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The player's lot at Fort Lauderdale Stadium contains a variety of late-model SUVs, luxury vehicles and sports cars. Then there's Jamie Walker's ride, a restored 1981 Pontiac Trans Am. Jet black, with a big decal on its enormous hood. How appropriate. The 36-year-old relief pitcher is the oldest player on the Baltimore Orioles, and the car he drives first hit the highway before many of his teammates were born. "One of my buddies had one back in high school and I loved Smokey and the Bandit. That's one of favorite movies. I wanted a replica just like that and I ordered it back in 2005," Walker said....
