COLLEGE PARK - Venerable Byrd Stadium is getting a makeover. Three new assistant coaches have signed on, including a new offensive coordinator. California has replaced traditional rival West Virginia on the schedule. In other words, signs of change are evident throughout the Maryland football program. There's a reason for the shake-up. Those inside and outside the program are concerned that the program has endured three sub .500 seasons in the last four, including last year's 6-7 mark, which included an Emerald Bowl loss to Oregon State.
