When Johns Hopkins head coach Dave Pietramala initially scouted Michael Evans as a high school junior, the defenseman was like a wild horse. Bursting with athleticism and oozing aggression, the Davidsonville resident was like a bucking bronco that needed to be broken.

Pietramala loved the way the South River High standout played and the fact he possessed certain innate characteristics that could not be taught.
