Amateur or "showcase" baseball is a multimillion-dollar industry fed every year by parents who spend thousands of dollars and teens who play in more than 100 games, all with the goal of impressing one person who can deliver "the dream." Jerry Wargo, 64, runs the Southern Maryland Baseball camp at Archbishop Spalding High School in the summer and Annapolis Area Christian School in the winter.
