Local youths try out triathlonPublished 06/22/09
On a beautiful, 75-degree Fathers' Day, some 200 local youths awakened early to participate in the third annual Truxton Youth Triathlon. The event, held at Truxtun Park, pushes youths aged 7-17 to their athletic limit by putting them through a contest of running, swimming and biking. "The goal is to introduce kids to a sport they can do for the rest of their lives," said race director Jennifer Bistrack, who works with Annapolis Recreation and Parks.
