Orioles Notebook: Birds prepare to duel with Boston's SmoltzPublished 06/30/09
BALTIMORE (AP) — While growing up, Matt Wieters and Nolan Reimold often watched John Smoltz pitch on television.
Both Baltimore Orioles rookies will get a different perspective Tuesday, when the 42-year-old right-hander makes his second start of the season for the Boston Red Sox.
"It will be neat to see him from the batter's box, as opposed to on TV," Wieters, 23, said Monday.
