To say Brett Cecil has been on the fast track to make the major leagues would be an understatement.
AP photoBrett Cecil is winless in his last five starts for the Blue Jays. The Toronto Blue Jays' organization promoted the left-handed pitcher three levels during the 2008 season, a meteoric rise that is extremely rare. Cecil was invited to spring training with the parent club this year, but general manager J.P. Ricciardi decided to play it safe and assign him to Triple-A Syracuse. That lasted all of one month as multiple injuries forced the Blue Jays to call up their top pitching prospect.
