South Maryland captures Little League district titlePublished 07/25/09
The South Maryland Little League 11-12-year-old All-Stars ran away with the Maryland District 4 tournament last week. The tournament included teams from Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties. South Maryland won in convincing fashion. The All-Stars went undefeated, outscoring their opponents by a combined run total of 63-2 and won all its games by the 10-run mercy rule. The pitchers did not allow an earned run and gave up only seven hits in four games. The team is now one of eight that will compete for the Maryland State Championship starting tomorrow in Waldorf,...
