Severn's Francis climbs Terps' depth chart

COLLEGE PARK - A.J. Francis was among the first names Maryland's football coach mentioned when asked who might fill a major defensive gap for the Terps.

The Severn resident is listed No. 1 at nose tackle on the Terrapins' preseason depth chart.

By far the most notable news to emerge from Maryland's preseason football camp last week was the fact projected starting defensive tackle Dion Armstrong has left the program.
