Baysox's playoff hopes fade

BOWIE - Blame it on the rain, blame it on the depleted roster, or just blame it on plain bad luck. The culprit doesn't matter. The fact remains that with little more than a week left in the season, the Bowie Baysox face an uphill battle to reach the Eastern League playoffs.

The Baysox entered play last night three games behind second-place Reading in the scramble for the Southern Division's lone wild-card playoff berth. Akron has already clinched the division and is assured of a place in the postseason. Reading, Erie (two games behind Reading and one ahead of Bowie) and the Baysox are trying to nail-down a second-place...
