COLLEGE PARK - Saturdays have been difficult for the Maryland football team this fall. But some bad experiences on game day haven't affected practice during the week. Despite a 2-5 record, none of the Terrapins has sulked publicly or pointed fingers. The general energy level has remained high, with Monday's practice particularly spirited, according to coach Ralph Friedgen.
It was the Terps' first time on the field since a 20-9 home loss to Virginia on Saturday. But the way the Terps carried on, an unfamiliar observer might have guessed the team was 5-2, rather than 2-5. Two competing kicking units razzed each other...
