NAVY WOMEN’S TENNIS: Emani Decquir closed out the weekend at the Wilson/ITA Atlantic Regional Championships on an impressive note, winning her lone consolation match yesterday morning. The win helped Decquir conclude the fall season with a 7-3 record. NAVY WOMEN’S CREW: The Midshipmen produced a pair of top 3 finishes to highlight their performance at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. In the championship eight event, the Midshipmen finished third out of 19 boats and second among collegiate crews with a time of 15:07.0167 over the 2.5-mile course. The Vesper Boat Club won the race with a 14:46.2867 clocking, followed by Drexel’s 15:04.8767 showing.NAVY SWIMMING: Adam Meyer and Tara Chapmon won a trio of individual events to help the Midshipmen swimming and diving programs post a pair of victories over UMBC. The Navy men’s team won, 156-133, while women’s squad recorded a 166-134 victory.NAVY VOLLEYBALL: A pair of slow starts cost the Midshipmen in a five-set loss to Lehigh, 22-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 15-8.MARY WASHINGTON WOMEN’S SOCCER: Amy Olson (Arundel) scored and the Eagles overcame a 2-0 deficit to force overtime, but fell with 1:57 left in the extra period in a 3-2 defeat at Stevenson.WESLEY FOOTBALL: Aaron Jackson tallied 260 total yards and scored four touchdowns as the fourth-ranked Wolverines dispatched Webber International, 34-7. Jackson rushed for 173 yards and three scores and added a fourth and 87 yards receiving. Carlos James (Broadneck) registered two stops in the backfield, including a sack and also recovered a fumble.MARYLAND FIELD HOCKEY: The No. 1-ranked Terrapins team held off No. 2 North Carolina, 4-1, in a rainy, wet match yesterday afternoon and claimed the ACC regular season title. The Terrapins moved to 17-0, a first in school history. With the win, Maryland claimed the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament.TOWSON FOOTBALL: John Griffin rushed for 200 yards and a touchdown as Northeastern beat the Tigers, 24-7. Towson (2-5, 1-3) managed only eight yards rushing. The Tigers’ only score came in the third quarter on a 6-yard pass from Jeremy Jayne to John Godlasky.SALISBURY MEN’S SOCCER: The Sea Gulls clinched the top seed and home-field advantage in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament with a 1-0 win over Mary Washington.UMBC MEN’S SOCCER: Levi Houapeu produced his second three-goal game of the season as the Retrievers (12-3-0, 3-2-0 America East) clinched a spot in the America East playoffs with a 5-1 win over Albany (0-12-3, 0-5-1).WASHINGTON COLLEGE FIELD HOCKEY: Amanda Pickard scored with 12:24 left in the second overtime to give McDaniel College a 1-0 win over the Shorewomen.SALISBURY FOOTBALL: Tommy Kowalick came through with a game-winning, 22-yard field goal with four minutes left and Brandon Hudson preserved the score with an interception on the next possession as the Sea Gulls beat Union College, 19-16.SALISBURY SWIMMING: The Sea Gulls opened the 2009-2010 season with wins against Marymount (Va.) University. The men’s team captured its third consecutive victory (113-82) against the Saints, as the women’s team snapped a four-year dry spell against Marymount with its 118-87 win. On the men’s side, the Sea Gulls (1-0) won eight events for a total of 113 points. Salisbury was led by Eric Robichaud (Annapolis) as he notched two first-place finishes. Robichaud finished the 50-meter freestyle in 25.33 and the 100-meter backstroke in 1:06.10. Eric’s older brother, Drew Robichaud (Annapolis), accumulated a first-place finish in the 200-meter IM (2:28.74) along with two second-place finishes.MCDANIEL MEN’S SOCCER: Michael Beard (Crofton, Archbishop Spalding) scored in the 14th minute to lead McDaniel to a 1-all deadlock with No. 11 Swarthmoren.SALISBURY WOMEN’S SOCCER: Sarah Jessilonis (Chesapeake) scored an unassisted goal as the Sea Gulls closed the 2009 regular season with their fourth straight win, taking down St. Mary’s (Md.) College, 5-1.ST. MARY’S COLLEGE: Chris Quamina (Glen Burnie/Mount St. Joseph) had the Seahawks’ only shot on frame during a 6-0 loss to York (Pa.) College. MCDANIEL FIELD HOCKEY: Stephanie Thompson (Chesapeake) made six saves and Mandy Pickford scored the game-winner 2:36 into overtime in the Green Terror’s 1-0 win over Washington College.
