COLLEGE PARK - Last year, when Maryland knocked off North Carolina, the Terrapins were a desperate team. They probably needed that unlikely overtime victory over the third-ranked Tar Heels to reach the NCAA Tournament. As such, the 88-85 victory last Feb. 23 set off a wild celebration on the Comcast Center floor that was a mixture of jubilation, excitement and relief.
