Intended as a perversely funny tune by New York City songwriter Stephen Lynch, "Kill a Kitten" has angered animal cruelty activists who want to keep him from performing in Annapolis this spring.

Mr. Lynch, a self-styled comedic singer known for songs like "Jim Henson's Dead," is scheduled to appear at Ram's Head Tavern on April 18 as part of a nationwide tour promoting his second CD.
