She laid out her clothes the night before and marked a store circular to remind her which Christmas gifts to buy. When the alarm went off at 3:30 a.m., it took the Annapolis woman only 25 minutes to get out of bed, into the car, and in front of the line at Toys 'R' Us in Parole.
Ms. Anderson braved the 37-degree temperatures by herself for 90 minutes before the next shopper showed.
They were joined by nearly 250 people - many sipping free Starbucks coffee - in a line that snaked into the parking lot.
