Overloaded outlet sparks fire in Cape St. Claire An electrical fire tore through a house in Cape St. Claire overnight, doing about $45,000 damage and displacing two people, a county Fire Department spokesman said. Division Chief John Scholz said the fire at 1293 Swan Drive started just before midnight, apparently because of an overloaded outlet in a front bedroom. Owner Catherine Salaf and her son were home at the time.
