During the last school year, cafeterias served up more than 1 million breakfasts - more than half of them free or at reduced prices - with a typical selection including orange juice, a mini banana loaf and cinnamon rolls.
Renee Koehler, supervisor of food and nutrition services for county schools said participation in the breakfast program has increased 37 percent since 2000.
