Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens this morning criticized the county school board for its reluctance to tackle redistricting and took the state to task for failing to solve its budget woes or address the area's transportation needs.
In a breakfast speech to the BWI Business Partnership in Glen Burnie, she also said a deal is "very close" to bring an intelligence-gathering homeland security agency to the county.
"Once that happens, Anne Arundel County will be on the national map permanently for defense and homeland security," she told the partnership, an economic networking group centered on BWI Airport.
