Lottery players say slots won't alter their preferences

They're separate in age, gender, occupation and geography.

But Phyllis Doyle, a 50-year-old homemaker from Pasadena, and Eric Dorsey, a 36-year-old Annapolis landscaper, are connected by their love of Keno.

They each spend $80 to $100 a week on Maryland's only official electronic game of chance. Both also travel out of state to play slot machines.

If slots come to Maryland, they plan to play them here - but say they won't stop betting on Keno.

"I'd stay and give Maryland my money," Mrs. Doyle said. "I would never give up Keno. I love Keno."
