County ranks among worst in nation for air pollution

Warning: the air you're breathing could be bad for your health, according to a report by the American Lung Association released this morning.

Anne Arundel County ranked 19th in the nation for polluted air in the association's annual State of the Air report, earning an F for overall air quality and ozone pollution. That's a slight improvement over last year, when the county ranked 17th.

The worst air in the state is now a dubious distinction held by Harford County, which moved from 15th on the list to 17th this year.

The study found Anne Arundel had 21.3 days in 2002-2003 when the air quality was considered unhealthy....
