County police honor 37 at annual awards ceremony

They've wrestled a shotgun out of a man's hands and dived into a creek with the hopes of saving a life. They've tracked down armed robbers and saved children from accidental overdoses. One officer was even shot in the line of duty.

To the county police officers recognized last night during the department's annual awards banquet though, it's all part of the job.

"We're not in this for the money or the recognition, we are in it because we want to help," said Officer Steve Burrell, who received the department's Silver Star.

Officer Burrell and Officer Shane Poteet received the department's top honor for risking their lives...
