When Katherine Goodman's muscular 16-year-old son asked for a pair of $175 Air Jordan basketball shoes last week, the 49-year-old single mother said 'no.' She explained that even if they were on sale for $100, she couldn't afford them. In response, her son allegedly pushed her on the bed, put his hand over her mouth to muffle her screams, and threatened to beat her every day if she didn't buy him the shoes. He then took her into the bathroom of their Glen Burnie apartment, put her in a choke hold, and pushed her to the floor before asking her if she wanted to live.
