Physicians volunteer time to treat World Cup playersPublished 06/23/05
Dr. Louis J. Ruland III didn't have to work hard to attract a team to the World Cup of women's lacrosse in Annapolis. Orthopedic surgeons, dentists, gynecologists and other medical professionals in this lacrosse-crazy town rushed to offer their time and expertise to help the hundreds of international athletes in town for the tournament, which begins today at the Naval Academy. "Not a single person that was asked turned us down," said Dr. Ruland, an orthopedic surgeon and lacrosse fan.
