Hospital is now Baltimore Washington Medical Center

North Arundel Hospital may be 40, but it's far from over the hill.

That's the message hospital officials sent out today as they kicked off a year-long celebration with a big surprise: a new name.

The hospital is now Baltimore Washington Medical Center, a name officials said reflects their plans to grow over the next 40 years.

"This is a name that reflects where the hospital currently is and where it's headed for the future," hospital President and CEO James R. Walker said.

Part of that future, the hospital hopes, is attracting some of the nation's top physicians to the Glen Burnie facility. Nationally known breast...
