Carbon monoxide scare sends 15 to the hospitalPublished 07/09/05
More than a dozen people were taken to a Glen Burnie hospital yesterday after high carbon monoxide levels forced an evacuation at Arundel Mills mall. A faulty exhaust system in the kitchen at Chevys Fresh Mex caused the toxic gas to accumulate throughout the day, said Lt. Russell Davies, a county fire department spokesman. Firefighters were sent to the restaurant after an anonymous call to 911 about the ventilation system, Lt. Davies said. Baltimore Washington Medical Center spokesman Allison Eatough said 15 patients were treated for injuries that were not life threatening. None was admitted and all had been released by 5 p.m....
