Millersville Elementary principal helps kids with autismPublished 07/26/05
Dr. Diana Strohecker didn't flinch when the little girl with curly blond hair reached out and touched her face, exploring it with her fingers. "Are you having a good morning today?" the principal of Millersville Elementary asked Shelby Capel as she put her arm around her. "I'm good," the third-grader answered with a hug followed by another hug. Dr. Strohecker refers to them as her kids, and please, she said, don't call them "autistic kids."
