Shooting victim was a runaway

MILLERSVILLE -- The teenager shot to death in Severn last week was a runaway from Western Maryland, Washington County, officials say.

Keisha Shardae Lane, 15, of Hagerstown, ran away from her new foster family July 25, said David A. Engle, director of the Washington County Department of Social Services. She had been with the family for three days.

"It has been just devastating to everyone here. She was part of our family," he said.

Anne Arundel County police were still investigating the murder this morning.
