Baby to get surgeries to fix rare affliction of hands

Three-month-old Mikie Peake has his daddy's eyes and an adorable smile. He cuddles with Mom and stops fussing when Dad gives him a bottle.

Mikie is starting to reach for things, but sometimes has trouble, especially when he uses his right hand.

Three fingers on Mikie's right hand and two on his left are webbed together and underdeveloped. Tomorrow he'll have the first of several surgeries to correct the problem.

Mikie was born without complications on May 15 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. But moments later, Mr. Peake and his fiancee, Jennifer Bartley, realized all was not right.
