It's a shipment many local businesses, such as Mike's Crab House, depend on. The popular restaurant on the South River gets 90 percent of its crabs from Louisiana, something no longer possible since Hurricane Katrina shut down Louis Armstrong International Airport -- along with most of the Gulf Coast crabbing industry.
"We completely depend on them," said manager Tony Piera. "It's hard to get crabs. It's going to be a big hit this weekend. I think it's going to drive prices through the roof."
