KENT ISLAND - A 44-year-old Stevensville man was killed Saturday after his car struck an unattended minivan on the side of the road and then slammed into a nearby tree.
James Bryant was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Mr. Byrant was traveling southbound on Route 8, north of Kent Point Road, when his 1989 Toyota pickup traveled onto the right shoulder, striking a 1992 Dodge Caravan owned by McDonald Strosnider Transmission of Lanham. The Toyota then left the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
