After three years of defeat in the General Assembly, slot machines finally debuted in Maryland this week courtesy of none other than Marci Miles. She's no lobbyist or buddy of Gov. Robert L. Erhlich Jr., just a brassy biker and entrepreneur from Florida who's working a noisy, gaudy tent at the United States Powerboat Show on City Dock. Forget about the racetracks - she wants to stock your boat with slots. "I wanted to bring in something different that I could make money on," Ms. Miles said. "There's no question that people enjoy them." That seemed to be the case yesterday as a steady stream of curious onlookers...
