Odenton may consider becoming county's third city

Saying local control would be better for Odenton, a west county civic group wants to explore options that include creating the county's third city.

Incorporating as a municipality is the most dramatic move being considered. If that option is followed, Odenton would join Annapolis and tiny Highland Beach as the county's only cities.

Other options up for discussion in a community meeting tomorrow include creating a new special benefit tax district that could be similar to one nearby in Crofton.
