One of Annapolis' best-known landmarks remained in the dark through 2005 after city officials couldn't pull off negotiations with a New York-based gourmet grocer.

While the Market House is slated to reopen in April, the debacle became a major issue in November's mayoral race and let to tensions between the administration and resdients of Ward I.
