Owens chides Crofton's dealmaking with developersPublished 01/24/06
The county executive last night cautioned Crofton civic leaders to carefully examine payments from developers made in exchange for their support on landfills, subdivisions and other projects in their fast-growing community. In a rare appearance at the Crofton Civic Association, County Executive Janet S. Owens said she "has no doubt" that deals like those recently struck between west county community groups and developers ultimately will result in a lawsuit.
