In the eyes of nuclear power advocates, consumers face a choice in the next few decades -- get over the abiding fear of nuclear power and accept the sight of 500-foot cooling towers as part of the landscape of Maryland, or else. Or else they'll pay nearly triple today's electric bill. Or else they'll choke on increasing emissions from coal-fired power plants.
