Doctor gets 20 days of house arrest in animal cruelty casePublished 03/29/06
A Prince George's County doctor was sentenced to 20 days of house arrest this morning for neglecting two miniature horses to the point that one had to be put down. Frederick J. Corder, 53, who was the chief health officer in Prince George's County at the time, apologized in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court this morning, saying he never intended to hurt the animals at his Harwood home. "I have spent my life taking care of animals and children," said Dr. Corder, who is a pediatrician.
