Man sets backwards bowling record at MeadePublished 04/30/06
Joe Scrandis backed right into a world record yesterday. Mr. Scrandis broke the record for the highest score ever for a game bowled backwards, bowling a 175 at the Fort George G. Meade Bowling Center. Cheers erupted from a small crowd as Mr. Scrandis of Columbia shattered the previous record of 160 with a strike in the 10th frame at 11:36 a.m. Afterwards, the youth bowling coach received high-fives from kids and congratulations from fellow coaches and parents who tried in vain to break the record.
