Ten graduate from county drug courtPublished 05/07/06
Kasey Bertrand was living on the streets of Baltimore with no goals or dreams when she came into an Anne Arundel County courtroom facing drug charges last June. "My main goal was to get out that day and use again," she said. Instead, she entered a drug treatment program and got sober. This week, Ms. Bertrand became one of 10 graduates of the Anne Arundel County District Court Drug Treatment Court class of 2006. More than 600 people have completed the program, which takes at least a year, since its inception in 1997. Thursday's ceremony also honored the first graduate of the county's DUI Treatment...
