About 50 people, dressed in their Sunday best, clutched 5-inch-long white candles in the darkened St. Philip's Episcopal Church's Family Life Center just outside Annapolis, singing a significant change to the final verse, "We shall overcome AIDS."
Dr. Terry, the event's organizer, said that despite the small turnout, he thought the program was well-received.
"I think the people who came got the message," he said.
