Memorial Day might be the symbolic start of summer, but this weekend also kicks off the crab-eating season across the Chesapeake region. But don't expect a bargain on those tasty crustaceans. "Prices are usually high on Memorial Day weekend because of demand," said Noreen Eberly, chief of seafood at the Maryland Department of Agriculture. In fact, prices have gotten so high that most merchants no longer quote crab prices by the bushel, instead advertising the price per dozen.
