Last year, prosecutor Dan Andrews had called Mr. Legum, posing as someone from the governor's staff, to tell him he hadn't gotten a District Court judgeship for which he'd interviewed. Instead, the job was going to a dark-horse candidate, the much younger Mr. Andrews.
Mr. Legum didn't fall for it that time, but in fact Mr. Andrews was right - he didn't get the job.
